NUR means light—and light is at the heart of everything we create. Each candle is hand-carved, one of a kind, and shaped with intention. More than objects to be burned, our candles are small sculptures meant to be admired, cherished, and passed on.

Inspired by Egypt’s rich history and timeless beauty, NUR pieces carry stories of heritage, texture, and craft. Wax becomes more than a material—it becomes memory and meaning.

Our Vision

NUR was born to create opportunity while preserving an art form worth celebrating. What began as a CSR initiative grew into a mission to share skills, empower artisans, and build independence through workshops in candle-making, carving, and Arabic calligraphy.

Are your candles handmade?

Yes, every candle is hand-poured by skilled local artisans using traditional techniques. We pride ourselves on craftsmanship, authenticity and attention to detail.

What scents do you offer?

We currently offer two signature scents: Oud - Deep, warm, and rich; inspired by tradition and elegance Flower - Soft, fresh, and uplifting; evoking serenity and light More scent options will be introduced as our collections expand.

Do you offer custom designs or labels?

Do your candles burn like regular candles?

Nur candles are designed first and foremost as decorative pieces, elegant home accessories crafted almost entirely from wax. The outer body is wax but is intended to be preserved and admired. A removable candle cup inside is what you burn. Some of our models are made to burn fully, but most customers choose to enjoy them for their artistic and aesthetic value.

How long does the candle inside burn?

Our standard refillable candle cups burn for approximately 45-30 hours, depending on the size and how well the candle is maintained.

How should I care for my candle?

- Trim the wick to 0.6 cm before each lighting

- Let the wax melt all the way to the edges of the cup to avoid tunneling

- Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time

- Keep away from children, pets, and anything flammable or in breezy areas

- Do not burn the outer wax body unless specified as safe to do so
